I hope the owner of this forum doesn't mind, but I have had the domain bandyforum.com for a while and decided to finally launch the forum. So I invite you all to it and would appreciate if you could me get it going. It should be easier to spread since the address is easier to remember . www.bandyforum.comThanks!

Interesting offer, thank you!
Two similar forums would probably be too much for our small world of bandy. But we've already got an established team of permanent contributors, and the forum is slowly but surely becoming more active, so it will be a shame if this good vibe will be gone. So it's time to ask our dear fellow members - what is everyone thinking?
As for me personally, I would be in favour of such a merging, in case your forum supports Unicode (UTF-8), so you could read both Russian and Scandinavian postings without switching the encoding. I'd also like to see your forum more "global" - more countries added in, with subforums for national languages, like what we're having here. At least you have to add Canada, because, I think about 1/3 of our discussions concern Canadian bandy and there's Canadians among the most active contributors on our board. Moving some interesting topics from this forum to yours wouldn't be bad either, although I'm not sure it can be easily carried out from the technical point of view.
So are we having a vote, ladies & gentlemen?

Thanks for the interest!
I can add more countries. The reason there's only a few now is because I didn't want lots of empty forums, and thought I could add more as time goes. But we can do it your way if you want.
I'm not sure about having multiple languages though. The non-english subforums might get more activity than the english ones, and then we don't get as much international discussion. I could start more forums though, and link them from the subforums on bandyforum.com, if that's wanted.
Regarding moving topics, it really depends. Is there any way for you to export the database as the Administrator of this forum? I would say that moving topics manually is too much work.

To be honest one forum would probably be the best. I do agree that they bandyforum.com address is much easier to remember or find. But the way this forum is set up is much better. It also has a few more member and a bit more action already started. Hopefuly you guys can figure something out.

I just like the different forums on here. Like you said yourself the Canadian froum is one of the more popular one's. I also think this one has more going on at the moment. If everything can get moved to the other one then thats no problem.

Thanks for the interest! I can add more countries. The reason there's only a few now is because I didn't want lots of empty forums, and thought I could add more as time goes. But we can do it your way if you want. OK, good to know that! I think Canada and Holland must be added in the first turn. Yes, we can do that as subforums, if your software allows that. My idea behind this particular forum was to create a universal forum on bandy, with both international and national parts. I haven't seen f.ex. Norwegian, American, Canadian bandy forums, let alone Dutch, Hungarian or Latvian. So this place could be host national forums as well, and it would be logical if it accepted different languages. Such (sub)forums could well be used by the national bandy associations, to post news and announcements. Another problem is that many fans in the former USSR don't speak English well, so the best way to attract them is by allowing Russian. There's plenty forums on the web that allow national languages sections, so I don't think it will do any damage to us. BTW, just checked your forum and it does support Unicode, accepting Russian and Scandinavian equally well. It's a big advantage, one Swedish or Russian letter, and you see how awful it looks on my forum. No, I don't have an access to the database, so there's only one option, copy-paste. But I don't think it will be too difficult, we can just combine posts. SJC is right, there's some interesting discussions started on here, so it would be shame if we abandon them in the middle of the road. P.S. Our forum is daily visited by 5-6 registered members, but none of them except SJC has reacted to this thread so far. I hope though that they will say some words here, otherwise we will just carry on as those, who do contribute to this topic, decide.
