Let's use this thread for discussing the tournament. As Dershan posted elsewhere: Organizers of the 2011 Asian Games they want to be invited to the tournament for the bandy team in Tajikistan. KAZAKHSTAN - 05/01/1911 22:44 - [Mr. X] Official website of the Seventh Asian Winter Games, unveiled the schedule for the tournament Bend. In Almaty, four teams are going to come - Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and the main surprise - Tajikistan! As expected, teams of India and China in the tournament Bandy will not attend. However, all mass media in Kyrgyzstan are assured that athletes of this country will take part only in the ice hockey, orienteering, and figure skating competitions, and AAI "Varzish-sport" informs only about three Tajik skiers, gathering at the Asian Games. source: bandynet.ru/node/14569=========================== Kazakhstan's gold is beyond doubt. Mongolia is surely the most probable No. 2, although Kyrgyzstan, having its own bandy tradition, might come as a surprise (if they take part at all). Shame China cancelled its participation (if it's true), as these games were long regarded as a stepping-stone for boosting an interest in bandy in China. May be the Chinese were afraid of losing 1:22 to Mongolia? Tajikistan (and let alone India) is certainly something really exotic. Anyway, let's hope this tournament will be success and bandy gets the deserved exposure in Asia.
