Its too bad there is no youth program in Canada. Although players like Opytov can improve the level and teach the other players, its not helping directly to attract young players/kids in Canada.. So Cjurka, you can say they need to use real Canadians, they don't have that much players as the Dutch do! And there must be some Swedish players with Dutch ancestors.. : )

Canada really does need a youth program. But its Canada good luck getting a young kid to give up the Canadian dream of playing professional hockey.

Oh I agree. Over the last few years the Canadian team has been sending a few players. But every Canadian kid still grows up with the dream of the NHL and to a Canadian its still a bigger goal. Even if they have a better chance going the bandy way. It's hard to convince people here to put down a hockey stick and pick up a bandy stick. And also we only play outdoors. It gets pretty cold out here. I've played in - 35. When hockey is easily played indoors.

Hello again, in Holland we train only on hockey-rinks, but our youth is going as much as possible to sweden for the summerbandyschools and to practice on big ice. And hockey is still bigger than bandy in Holland, but still I think that the bandygame is much faster and technical more interesting than hockey. We had some well trained hockeyguys who trained with our bandyteam, and afterwards they told that it was difficult to stay on the ice so long and to stay skating all the time!! It is an complete different sport!! But I love it!!
